The analysis of needs in terms of monitoring allowed us to identify the elements that need to be centralized into one single solution :
- Improving the reactivity when facing blackouts and slowing response time with an availability and performance data internal monitoring.
- Adding a proactive monitoring to the system thanks to Nagios' internal mechanisms and reportings based on operating needs, Capacity Planning and informatics/network directorates.
- Implementation of service level contracts with users and providing them with reports of the quality.
- Deployment of everything in an autonomous way, preventing from being hadicapped because of constructor restrictions.
With this, the Centreon/Nagios couple guarantees a network, system, middleware and applicative monitoring based on Nagios' core with retrievement and processing of collected data.
The configuration of the solution is made from the Centreon terminal in web mode (perimeter, correlation, escalation, access management, user views...).
Two interfacings are then available :
- User Interfacing of the first level information lifting system through the "Centreon Statuts Map" terminal.
- User Interfacing of the second level information lifting system (technical notions) through Web Centreon terminal.

- Persons in charge of operating, because Centreon allows you to control the resources and servers, with a perfect visibility of the activity. Proactive actions can be launched when limits are reached.
- Network and IT administrators, because they could show users the quality of provided services, respects of contractual engagements and advantages of services that are possibly proposed by other service delivery competitors.
- Persons in charge of support, because they are notified in a very simple way when there are problems on the IT, thanks to the Centreon Statuts Map applet.
The software is available in French and English and can be translated very easily.
