MERETHIS The LAB

As the editor of the Centreon software range, MERETHIS makes a commitment has to support the Research and Development of its products. MERETHIS re–invests every year a part of its income in these activities to encourage the innovation. 70 % of expenses bound to the activities of Research and Development are covered by the company.

The technology watch led by the MERETHIS teams provides essential intelligence to the LAB developers regarding the latest market innovations.

Every member of the LAB directs its work so that the evolutions of the Centreon software range stay in line with the demand of the market. The developers of the LAB also participate in the progress of several other Open Source projects such as Nagios and Icinga by proposing for example corrective patches. By communicating on the forums dedicated to monitoring activities, they get involved in chats and share their experiences and their knowledge of the Centreon software range.

The feedback and the propositions of development of the community of Centreon as well as users are handled with care. The teams of MERETHIS are constantly tuned to the Centreon community and encourage the contributors avid to share their work to use the means provided to them. The Centreon Web site proposes a direct access towards the forge but also the forum, the wiki as well as the blog dedicated to Centreon.

The commercial teams and the support of MERETHIS exchange also often with the members of the LAB to feed their reflections and expose them examples of concrete cases of uses of the Centreon software range. These exchanges are sometimes at the origin of new evolutions of products but especially source of inspiration for the implementation of new projects of development.

Among these projects, Centreon SysLog coordinated by Laurent Pinsivy can be taken as an example. This module was naturally accepted and supported because it could integrate perfectly the Centreon software and brings a strong added value in its functioning. Centreon Syslog is currently available among the Extensions Core proposed free of charge to all the users of Centreon on the site of Centreon.

Today the Centreon software range leans on the work of 30 internal and external developers. Centreon benefits since his creation of supports some very active contributors who are faithful to the project. MERETHIS wishes to thank these contributors: Jean Marc Grisar, Nikolaus Filus, Guillaume Watteeux and Cyril Feraudet for their implication.
